CommCare® Corporation to Acquire Notre Dame Health System and St. Anthony’s Gardens
NEW ORLEANS, La. – CommCare® Corporation, a statewide leader in quality skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire Notre Dame Health System and St. Anthony’s Gardens.
“When Archbishop Hannan founded Chateau de Notre Dame, the church was filling a void that existed in health care in the region, a void that no longer exists,” said Notre Dame Health System CEO Deacon Jeff Tully. “Today, we find ourselves facing significant challenges as health care management has become more specialized and costly, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation, and rising insurance costs.”
As part of the LOI, CommCare has agreed to keep Catholic identity and traditions in place, including celebration of Mass at the residential facilities.
“Acquiring Notre Dame Health System is an exciting opportunity for CommCare, as their continuum of care will strengthen our network,” said Jim Tucker, CEO of CommCare Management. “We look forward to working with the leadership of Notre Dame Health System to make this a smooth and seamless transition for all patients, residents and their families.”
Notre Dame Health System encompasses a spectrum of healthcare services including independent care, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, memory care, home health and hospice care. As part of the purchase, CommCare will acquire Chateau de Notre Dame, Wynhoven Health Center, and Our Lady of Wisdom nursing homes.
St. Anthony’s Gardens is a senior living community with both independent living and assisted living apartments located on the Northshore.
